Abstract

AI is being used in both public sector and private sectors to increase effectiveness, improve efficiency, and evolve new business services. AI is built on data, but for many organisations they are unable to answer a fundamental question - "Is your data AI ready?". Creating a detailed, current, and accurate understanding an organisation's data landscape, and determining the quality and AI suitability of the data in this landscape, can be a daunting undertaking and a potential roadblock on the enterprise AI adoption journey.

Data stewards are often tasked with this data readiness work, but they may lack the skills or capacity to perform it in a timely manner. Fortunately, modern data management tools have emerged with embedded AI capabilities that can augment the data specialist and their enhance their capacity to perform this work. The AI assistant works alongside the human data specialist, it responds to prompts to analyse data sets. The results provided by the AI assistant can then be checked by the data specialist for accuracy and relevance. By delegating many laborious and time-consuming tasks to the AI assistant, the data specialist becomes more productive, and the enterprise AI project can deliver value sooner.
